How to Update your Chromebook

To help with updates that may affect your trackpad, you can use a computer mouse you own or have at home, or can borrow one temporarily from a teacher, your school's main office or attendance office, or a computer lab.

Once you are ready, review the below image and the steps below:

How to: Update your Chromebook:

1. From Google Chrome,

a. In the top right-corner, click the 3-vertical dots “settings” button

b. Click "Help"

c. then "About Chrome"

2. A New window will appear. From it, Click the blue " Chrome OS Settings" button.

3. A final window will appear. Click “ Check for updates” again & your device will begin to
download updates. This may take a few minutes; during this time, you may continue to work as normal
or simply leave the chromebook alone.

4. Once the update is complete, you'll be prompted to restart it. Click restart to complete the
update. Wait for your device to reboot and it will bring you back to the login screen when
complete.
